Tips for DIY installing Glue Hooks

 

Hooks on the back of your wall are great for hanging clothes etc ...

Hooks, brackets and shelves are very inexpensive and are also handy in the kitchen & bathroom!

If you haven't mastered drilling yet - here's a few tips for self-installing the Command glue hooks available from the supermarket.

  1. Use mentholated spirits to do an initial clean before using your higher grade https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isopropyl_alcohol - make sure your metho is dry 
  2. Use the spirit level on your Smartphone to draw a level line to aim the hook if you want to
  3. Before you peel off the backing and expose the glue practise sitting the hook on the wall with both hands
  4. Wear a pair of plastic gloves so you can wriggle your hook into the desired position if necessary

Don't forget a hair dryer + extension, chord heat gun can remove the glue hooks if you no longer need them, put them in the wrong position etc ...

Cleaning alcohols can clean up the rest of the glue ~

High grade Isopropyl alcohol has a number of uses including preparing and cleaning the surface for hooks and wiping down the glass for all your devices as described in my other post!
